Have been going to NCT antenatal classes and the 'teacher' talks quite a lot about using our pelvic floor muscles in the birth.  I'm getting worried about mine now.  I had a kidney infection a few years ago and my PFMs haven't really been the same since.  Anyone know if this will make the birth harder?  Sort of embarassed to ask at the classes.

Mine were fairly week the first time around and even worse the second so I'm sure you've nothing to worry about. But don't feel embarassed to talk to your MW about it. That's what they're there for.

I agree AndyC. You've still got time to exercise them and you should ask a MW if you're concerned, or your NCT teacher. Chances are you're asking a question that lots of the others are concerned about. Ours did a session where she split us into Mums and Dads so you could ask it then if you wanted to. Trust me, you'll ask more embarassing questions of your NCT friends before your babies 1st birthday if yours are anything like mine
