I am thinking about potty training.  Has anyone ever used a potty training doll before or know where I can get one from?  I believe they are quite popular in America.

Gosh, never heard of that before, but then I guess my DS is a long way off that.  When do we potty train?

Hello HappyMummy,

Firstly welcome to Local Parent Forums.  I am afraid that I haven't come across any in the UK, but you can get them shipped from the US.

I did a quick search for you on google and found:

http://www.pottytrainingconcepts.com/

http://www.pottytrainingdolls.com/

Hope the above is of use.  I don't know whether they will ship to the UK.

Not heard of a Potty Training Doll, though given my lack of success in potty training a 3 year old I care for, I'm willing to give anything a go - so do let me know if you get one.

Any tips for getting a child who hates to sit on a toilet, or potty, to pottytrain. Having knickers on is no problem, but she likes having them wet!

Sounds tough, and I guess you have tried the usual reward charts.

Does she like the knickers she is wearing? What about letting her choose the pretty knickers then if they get wet she has to wear boring white ones for the rest of the day? Or how about going back to nappies or isn't she bothered?

I think the potty training doll sounds like a good idea, though my daughter potty trained without too much trouble so can't really be of much help.

Good luck

Jackie
